Hilton Head Island Holds Reality Show Casting Call

How does 15 minutes of fame and an unforgettable Hilton Head Island vacation at a luxury oceanfront home sound? Hilton Head Island is seeking a family or group to star in an upcoming episode of “Getting Away Together,” a new PBS reality television show.

“Getting Away Together” travels to breathtaking vacation destinations and follows a visiting family or group as they relax in rental properties and create memorable experiences. This group travel concept, known as “togethering,” is a growing trend in travel. The show seeks to capture how group travel and relaxation can strengthen existing relationships and foster new ones.

Hilton Head Island has been selected as one of thirteen captivating destinations to be featured in the show’s 2012 season, and now Hilton Head Island is looking for the perfect group to enjoy their stint as its carefree island vacationers. It’s a reality role that many can surely fill with ease, given the beaches, fresh seafood and fabulous accommodations found on Hilton Head Island.


How is Hilton Head Island choosing the best travelers for the job? In addition to an online questionnaire, entrants must submit a video telling why their family or group deserves a world-class Hilton Head Island getaway and a television appearance.

The reality show casting call is open for submissions now through July 25, 2011. All video submissions will be posted online for viewing and voting by the public. The 10 video entries that receive the most votes will be given highest priority recommendations to the producers of the show for potential selection.Video entrants are encouraged to focus on what makes their group unique with a creative and fun appeal. All groups are invited to participate, from fun-loving families with unique stories, to gregarious gal pals eager for an extravagant escape, or guy groups looking for leisure on the links.PineRidge TV, the show producers, will make their selection for the Hilton Head show by mid-August 2011.

The Hilton Head Island Visitor & Convention Bureau and a local host resort rental company will provide the chosen group with luxury accommodations, dining and activities during the film shoot.
